SCHOOL REOPENING READINESS DURING COVID-19 PANDEMY: A PERSPECTIVE OF EDUCATION STAKEHOLDERS
Abstrak
This article aims to investigate the readiness of the school principals, teachers, local education offices, and parents if schools reopen during Covid-19 pandemic. The idea of school reopening during Covid-19 pandemic has raised concern over the risk of school reopening. On the hand, 40 the school closure for a long period has resulted in the learning loss among students, the problem in student’s mental health status, and the potential of student’s long term economic loss. On the other hand, the risk of school reopening during covid-19 also put a higher risk for students, teacher, and their families mainly in terms of their safety and health. This survey shows that the majority of teachers, principals, parents, and local education offices are ready and have made some preparations for school reopening regarding aspects of: the procedure for face to face learning, the mapping of school’s members health satatus, the availability of health infrastructures and facilities, and the enforcement of health protocol. However, survey also indicates that regardless the availability of health infrastructures and facilities, many of them are inadequate. Also, the mapping of health status has not been conducted regularly. Therefore, the government needs to carefully plan the policy of school reopening considering the aspects need to be prepared before school reopening.
