SINGLE PARENT DUE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC: THE URGENCY OF ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT AND PARENTING

Abstrak

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted all aspects of people's lives, including the increasing
number of women who became the breadwinners because their husbands died and the
increasing number of men who also played the role of mothers due to the death of their wives
exposed to Covid-19. This condition, which eventually resulted in the emergence of a new
single parent, cannot be ignored if it is a pre-prosperous family and has underage children.
Real solutions are needed for its survival. Ministries/Institutions/Local Governments, the
private sectors, and communities need to work together in data collection and assistance for
these underprivileged families by not forgetting monitoring and evaluation.
