Conducting in mentoring activities for marine affairs and fisheries main actors is the responsibility of Fishery Extension work in the field. The Fisheries Extension Officer will meet
many people and requires high mobility in order to deal with. Since March 2020 and up today Indonesia has been hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. Central Government and some regional
governments applied a policy of large-scale social restrictions (LSSR/PSBB), the application of restrictions on community activities (ARCA/PPKM), and a work from home policy (WFH)
for civil servants. This pandemic has limited the steps of the Fisheries Extension Officer movements and gives a bad impact for KPI targets that have not been achieved because of
PPKM and WFH policies, so that the performance of the Fisheries Instructor has decreased. For example, the performance of Fisheries Extension in 2020 in Banten, DKI Jakarta and West
Java Provinces of 104 people (51%) performed moderately or even less. This article was compiled as a strategy for Fisheries Extension Officers to remain productive during the
pandemic. The strategy that can be applied is the selection of counseling methods such as indirect counseling through the use of IT such as social media: WhatsApp, Telegram, YouTube,
Facebook, and the Zoom Meeting application. Counseling materials should be made in clear and concise, so that it can be sent through social media.
